Medicinal Chemistry Research Group
Nowadays, biologically active small molecules are one of the most promising tools for affecting selected biological processes. Researching and gaining extensive knowledge about them are important, for example, when designing new drugs. The research team is focused on the development of synthetic methods and strategies that are used to prepare structurally non-trivial small molecules and how to best apply them in biomedical research. Within the framework of this research, the team has managed to create new compounds that can be used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Patentable, biologically active organic compounds can serve as starting points for pre-clinical research programs focusing on cancer treatment.
