Intensive Care Research Group
The Intensive Care Research group is tightly connected to the clinical Department of anesthesiology and intensive care of St. Anne’s university hospital which contains two multidisciplinary intensive care units and emergency room. It focuses on a clinical patient-oriented investigation of mechanisms of development, progression and outcome in critical illness. The cooperation with a number of basic research laboratories provides many opportunities to apply the translational research approach through combining clinical data with cellular and molecular data. The group is mainly interested in studying immunity changes in ongoing sepsis and investigation of novel biomarkers in critical illness.
