Alzheimer's Endowment Fund, three enthusiastic young ladies and a team of authors have created a unique book that describes Alzheimer's disease literally from A to Z. We are proud that Mgr. Hana Marková, Ph.D. et Mgr. Kateřina Čechová and Mgr. Adéla Fendrych Mazancová are members of a joint project of the The International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne's University Hospital Brno (FNUSA-ICRC) and the Cognitive Center of the Department of Neurology in Motol University Hospital called Czech Brain Aging Study (CBAS).
Head of the Cognitive Disorders and Dementia Research Team FNUSA-ICRC, prof. Assoc. MUDr. Jakub Hort, Ph.D., contributed the introductory word and MUDr. Kateřina Sheardová, head of the FNUSA-ICRC Memory Disorders Research Center, wrote a chapter on the latest findings in the field of disease prevention and non-pharmacological interventions. Other members of the CBAS project, such as MUDr. Ondrej Lerch, MUDr. Jiří Cerman and MUDr. Rastislav Šumec participated ond book too.
“We were inspired to write the book by our daily work with Alzheimer's patients and their loved ones who try to understand the origin of the disease as much as possible. The most common questions we hear in the outpatient clinic also relate to how to fight the disease itself, and how to prevent it. Active approach to treatment is perceived very positively by both patients and family. Plenty of information about the course of the disease helps carers to respond best to the patient's needs and to maintain their mental health in this difficult situation. In addition to answering all these questions, this book also provides practical advice that can help in day-to-day care of a patient with dementia, ”summarized Kateřina Sheardová.
The book aims to guide readers in the maze of questions related to Alzheimer's disease. Its style and language is available to everyone. It is also useful for those who have not yet encountered this disease. The book can also be an inspiration for professionals or students interested in this issue. There is no need to read it from beginning to end, everyone can find exactly what he is interested in and need to return to the omitted chapters later.

Publication „In a maze called Alzheimer“, it can be bought in all good bookstores, and is also available as an e-book.
