Research program Kardiovize Brno 2030 of The International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne's University Hospital Brno (FNUSA-ICRC) is behind the organization of a professional conference, which will be attended by experts from four continents on Friday, October 16. They will discuss not only research but also innovative approaches to improving the health of different populations.

Due the current epidemiological situation, it will of course be a virtual event. Participants will be scientists, doctors and students, experts who will join so that they can share their opinions and questions.

"As part of our conference day, which we called Kardiovize Conference Day, we would like to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about cardiovascular problems and prevention on a global scale," says Juan Pablo Gonzalez-Rivas,Head of Kardiovize Brno 2030 Research Program, adding: "Worldwide the number of people with obesity, prediabetes and diabetes is growing, while, for example, hypertension or smoking are beginning to stabilize or decline in high- and sometimes middle-income countries. Conversely, in low-income areas, we are seeing accelerated growth. To prevent millions of deaths and disabilities, we need to understand the challenges we face in different settings, and we need to be involved in implementing innovative approaches to tackling this increased health burden. ”

Approximately 26,000 deaths can be prevented in the Czech Republic every year. "It is so. Smoking, hypertension, obesity, high cholesterol or hyperglycemia are risk factors that can be prevented but not easily managed. We will discuss all this with the world's leading experts such as Dr. Frederick Wekesah from Boston, who will talk about, among other things, his research in African slums in Nairobi or Dr. Jeffrey l. Michanick from New York, who will describe new medical models for the management of obesity and diabetes, "added Juan Pablo Gonzalez-Rivas, by the way also one of the lecturers.
