Up to 150 People Came to Listen about the Brain

In the past few days, people visited International Clinical Research Center of St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno to widen their knowledge about the most important human organ – the brain. Lectures for the public were part of the Brain Week festival, which has been organized by the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague as part of Brain Awareness Week, a global campaign to raise awareness of the achievements and benefits of brain research. This year, for the first time, a satellite event was held in Brno.

In two days, about 150 people visited Brno lectures. Candidates fully occupied the lecture halls and listened with interest to the experts and their talk. On Tuesday, they learned about stroke, the second most common cause of death, on Wednesday, about epilepsy or Alzheimer’s disease, the most common cause of memory disorders that lead to dementia. The first year of Brno lectures was successful and we will participate in the festival next year.
