Our Researcher Was Invited to Aspen Young Leaders Program

Our postdoctoral researcher in the Translational Neuroscience and Aging Program Valentina Lacovich has been selected to participate to this year’s Aspen Young Leaders Program (AYLP), organized by the Aspen Institute Central Europe.
AYLP is designed for emerging leaders (aged 25–40) from Central Europe, active in various professional fields. The Program’s main goal is to encourage its participants to reflect on the fundamental qualities that make a successful leader in today’s world. On March 21–24, 2019 at resort in the remote reaches of the Tatra Mountains in Slovakia, the participants attended various workshops, moderated discussions and keynotes which give the participants the opportunity to explore the challenges and conflicts that leaders have to face when deciding policies and strategies for their organizations, communities and themselves. Lacovich was encouraged to apply by the Slovenian ambassador in the Czech Republic Leon Marc. She has also been awarded a partial scholarship for the participation and is the first Slovenian to be selected. The Aspen Institute is an international nonprofit think tank founded in 1949.
