Commercialization of research outputs

Research conducted at FNUSA-ICRC yields concrete outputs, new diagnostic and therapeutic methods and technologies, or new substances that can be used as pharmaceuticals. FNUSA-ICRC strives to commercialize these outputs, i.e. pass them on to manufacturers of pharmaceuticals or medical devices for commercial use.

For example, FNUSA-ICRC research has produced outputs in the form of a joint US patent for a new method and apparatus for the diagnosis of ventricular dyssynchrony, a patent for a drug with a potential use for prostate cancer treatment, and a joint patent application with the Mayo Clinic has been filed at the US Patent Office for a new method and apparatus for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia. Additional patent applications are currently being prepared.
